The Computor Tutor is a well-established, computer and technology education company, focusing on the three Ts of Tutoring: teaching, training, and troubleshooting. We teach people how to use and understand technology.
What, is the difference between teaching and training? Teaching generally is conducted in a classroom environment. The teaching may provide PDPs (Professional Development Points), or it may be a credit class for a college or university. Training can be done one-on-one, or in a classroom environment but does not have the added distinction of any type of earned credits.
Troubleshooting is an interesting and diverse topic. It can include anything from a child's toy stuck in a computer, frayed cords from an over-zealous teething puppy, spilled refreshments on keyboards and mice, or something as annoying as pop-ups, slow response times, unwanted software, badly behaving printers, new software installations, file transfers, burning CD and DVDs, etc. Not an exhaustive list, but certainly exhausting and trying areas for the lay person. The Computor Tutor has seen and solved many interesting problems in the last two decades. Clients are the best teachers. Without their desire to use computers and electronics, the Computor Tutor would cease to exist.
The Computor Tutor is a sole proprietorship targeting small businesses, educational institutions, and individuals. Teaching and training is provided at a client's home, or at their work place. In addition, The Computor Tutor provides classroom training for up to 25 students, per class, at the client's location.
All assistance provided by The Computor Tutor is customized, prioritized and scheduled at the client's convenience. Topics range from buying new software and hardware to troubleshooting software or hardware that is not performing as expected, or intended. Electronic items include desktop and laptop computers, cell phones (web enabled or not), iPods and other MP3 players, wireless and bluetooth devices (headsets, printers), digital cameras and picture frames, scanners, CD and DVD burners, and backup devices (tapes, flash drives, external hard drives).
The computer and electronics industries drive what the Computor Tutor supports. If it isn't listed on this website, please ask if it is supported. Computers and electronics change fast and keeping abreast of ALL the technology is impossible for the consumer AND information technology professionals. The Computor Tutor does not profess to know it all, but has the skills to quickly learn new technologies and provide timely solutions to a diverse clientele.
